Plugged @ Real Al Co & Taproom – 11.9.21

We’re delighted to return to the Real Al Co & Taproom in Walthamstow for a free evening of live electronic music. Come join for three exciting live acts covering a broad spectrum of ambient, electronica, and improvised melodic techno.

t l k
https://tlkvox.bandcamp.com/
t l k is an independent producer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and collaborator based in Bristol. Her sound nests in the ‘melantronic’ subgenre, combining intricate vocal layers, sub-infused synth swells, percussive textures and field recordings. Blending dream-like floatation with the visceral, t l k transports us inside ourselves. With James Blake, Radiohead, Björk and FKA Twigs all notable influences in her sound, her fusion of melancholic downtempo, electronic minimalism and vocal vulnerability has allowed t l k to be recognised as “one of the most compelling vocalists in Bristol right now”.

Blue Loop
https://blueloopsounds.com/
A London-based producer, creating electronic music from analogue synths and found sound. Following a series of live shows honing her sound in London, Reykjavik and Berlin throughout 2019, she released her debut EP Grand Illusion in December 2020: five tracks that meet at the intersection of ambient techno, IDM and progressive electronic. Her music treads a fine line between warm analogue synths and glacial drums, organic samples and artificial soundscapes, soft textures and harsh realities: swirling, atmospheric tracks reminiscent of everything from Tangerine Dream and Vangelis to Boards of Canada, Kelly Lee Owens, Elysia Crampton and Throwing Snow (who she counts among her fans).

And/Or
https://and-or-uk.bandcamp.com/
Born out of improvised electronic music jams, live duo And/Or perform part composed/part improvised music spanning an eclectic mix of ambient electronica, trip hop, breaks, and techno. They have performed together at numerous events including at MiniFest and on the recent global livestream for international music conference NAMM. Releases include their most recent single Moods, Progress and their ep, Satellites.

Hosted by Eve Louise Horne and representing the Unheard, the campaign for the equality of womxn in music.
